A Most Worthwhile Cause — The Rescue Team at Henry Horton State Park

Located on more than 1,000 acres of beautiful Tennessee woodlands and golden, native grass pastures, Henry Horton State Park is a beloved destination for campers, hikers, golfers, competitive skeet shooters, and boating enthusiasts. Bounded by the State’s longest and most biologcally-diverse waterway, the Duck River, the park attracts its share of the 150,000 anglers, paddlers, and boaters who use the river annually.

A PRESENT NEED

Currently, when there is an emergency on the river which requires a rescue boat, park rangers at Henry Horton must call the Marshall County and/or the Chapel Hill, Tennessee Emergency Management Agencies for assistance. This can cost a lost or injured boater desperate minutes or even hours awaiting rescue.

Therefore, the Friends of Henry Horton State Park, in recognition of this most important necessity, are hosting a fund raising event, Thursday night, March 21, at the park’s Conference Hall. Funds contributed will go toward the purchase of a rescue boat to be kept on park property.

Please join us for a night of good food, entertainment, and fine company! Social Hour begins at 5:30 p.m., and dinner is served at 6:30 p.m. The information for the event is below.
